Statement of Faith

What We Believe

1. The verbal, plenary inspiration and inerrancy of the Bible (2 Tim 3:16; 2Peter 1:19-21)

2. Only one true God (Deut. 6:4)

3. The Trinity of the Godhead (Gen. 1:26)

4. The Holy Spirit - His gifts and ministry (1 Cor 12:1-11)

5. The foundational and hence transitional nature of sign gifts: that of apostles, (Eph2:20) prophets (Eph2:20), tongues (1Co13:8), miracles and miraculous healings (James 5:14,15) performed by believers so gifted. These gifts having now served their purpose have passed away.

6. The reality and personality of Satan and Demons (Luke 4:1-13)

7. The Genesis account of the creation of the world out of nothing by God (Gen chps 1&2; Heb11:2)

8. The fall and total depravity of man (Gen. 3; Rom5:12)

9. The miracles, substitutionary atonement & bodily resurrection of Christ (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John; 1 Cor. 15:1-8)

10. Salvation through repentant faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ (John3:16; Rom3:24-26; Rom5:19; Rom10:9; Acts16:31; Eph2:8; 1Pet3:18)

11. The necessity of the new birth, by God's grace (John 3:3)

12. Justification by repentant faith alone, apart from works (Rom. 3:24,28; 4:5; Eph2:8; Titus3:5)

13. The sanctification of the believer (Rom. 8:29).

14. The security and perseverance of the believer (1 Pet. 1:3-5)

15. The local church as a body of born again believers gathered to the person of the Lord Jesus Christ, for the purpose of:

 i. remembering the Lord Jesus and His work for us (1Co11:24)

ii. Specifically remembering the person and work of Lord Jesus Christ each week (Acts20:7; 1Co16:2) in the breaking of bread and in the drinking of the cup (Luke22:19; 1Co11:23-26).

iii. Building up believers in their faith (1Tim4:12-16; 2Tim4:2)

iv. Bearing testimony to a lost world of the reality of Gods saving power and the present reality of the presence of the Spirit of God in the world (Matt28:19-20; Matt5:14; 1 Thess1:8)

16. Believers baptism by immersion (Matt. 28:19; Acts8:36-38; Acts 2:41)

17. Biblical separation from sin and apostasy (personal & ecclesiastical) (1 Cor. 5:9-13)

18. The unity of the true church of God (Eph. 4:3)

19. A regenerate church membership: the local church ought to be a fellowship of born again and baptised believers only (Acts2:41-42; 2 Co2:14).

20. Obedience to civil government (Rom. 13:1-7)

21. The rapture and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ for believers (1Thess 4:13-5:2; John11:25,26; 2Thess2:1-7)

22. A literal, eternal Heaven for the saved (John 14:2; Rev 21)

23. A literal, eternal, burning Hell for the lost (Luke 16:19-31; Rev20:11-15
