1 - That we are sinners before him and in desperate need of forgiveness and
cleansing from our sins. Romans chapter 3 verse 23 tells us:
"for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"
Because of my sin I am separated from God (Isaiah chapter 59 and verse2)
"but your iniquities have separated between you and your God," because of
this I am thus utterly miserable and my heart cries out for God (read Psalm
42) and yet is never satisfied because there exists a barrier of sin between
me and God. If I die without my sins removed I will be eternally lost to the Lake of
Fire and eternal judgement, "And whosoever was not found written in the book
of life was cast into the lake of fire" (Revelation chapter 20 verse 15).
3 - God now commands me to repent of my sin, that is to be sorry for my sin
and turn from my sin, "God now commandeth all men everywhere to repent"
(Acts chapter 17 verse 30) and to believe with my whole heart that His Son
the Lord Jesus Christ is my only hope of salvation:
" I AM the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by Me."
(the words of Christ in John chapter 14 verse 16).
God expects me to believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins
and has been raised again from the dead and so is able to save me.
If I call upon God to save me and believe in Christ as my Saviour I can
take God at His word: "If you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you shall be saved"
(Romans chapter 10 verse 9).
There is no other means of salvation, no other way to heaven and no
alternative means of having my sin forgiven, "For there is no other name
under heaven given amongst men whereby you must be saved."
Do you want to be saved? Do you want to become a Christian? You can be saved
right now where you are without any assistance from any other person. It is
between you and God. Call upon Him now. He has promised that He will hear
you're cry for salvation: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved" (Romans chapter 10 verse 13). Simply believe and
receive Gods gift of eternal salvation.
Once you have put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour, speak
to God in prayer at least every day and get to know God by reading His word the
Bible. Gods book is a living book and you will find that Gods Spirit will
guide you through the pages of this book and answer every question of your
heart and mind.
